Did you know Facebook owns all the photos you upload onto your profile? If they sell their website, similar to what MySpace did. . . the new company can then use your pics for whatever services they may have without permission. For instance your pics may become part of database for stock photos! Imagine seeing yourself in an advert AND without compensation or credit?
2 Game Hackers
Although the largest, most trusted gaming companies say they use encryption, do you ever wonder how safe your data is from hackers getting a hold of your login info? Sony, not long ago had such a problem and failed to protect their users personal info. Once a hacker gets your password and email address, this is an entry point for bots to try to find a way into your financial banking accounts. Hint: Always use different password for ALL your various accounts!
3 Ransomeware Virus
Ransomeware affects mobile phones when you're browsing the Net and click a photo hosted on a "fishy website." It then downloads a virus that locks you out of your phone and encrypts your stored data. The hackers then blackmail you saying they'll send you a password to encrypt, only if you send them money. Hint: Don't surf dodgy websites!
4 Trolls Stalking Trolls
If you're a troll hiding behind an anonymous online name, your anonymity may be an illusion. If someone gets angry enough about something you've commented on, they may still track you down. . . especially if your username matches other accounts, such as your Facebook profile. Additionally there are sites offering bots used for searching your online data to put together a profile of who you REALLY are.
5 Google Employees
Did you know Google records everything you enter into its search engine? With this data any employee or ex-employee of Google's can potentially blackmail you via your search history for material geared towards that!
